Even though they will be playing against Croatia, the team which was responsible for knocking them out in Group D. Czech Republic is also in the same group. One more team from the playoffs among Serbia, Norway, Scotland, and Israel will join the previous teams of Group D.
As this tournament is spread over 12 countries, England will be in an advantageous position as they will play all their group games in Wembley. In fact, they will also play their semi-final and final games at the same place, only if they advance to those levels. Southgate was a part of the England squad of 96 that reached the semis. When asked about that time, he said that they have played against both the teams before and playing at Wembley always gives them a special feeling to them. He added that England has an idea about the quality of the midfielders that Croatia has. They have a fixture that is at a top-level.
