The former Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou has said that he is not looking for a move away from the French club Lille, despite reports linking him with a return to England with the Premier league club QPR.
The Ivory Coast international has been a major disappointment at the French club since his free transfer move in the summer. He has made 17 appearances for the club during this season, but has scored just three goals in all competitions. This has meant that Lille are struggling in the eighth position in the league with just two victories in the last five matches.
It has been rumoured that the French club will be willing to listen to offers for the player, who has been extremely disappointing as a striker. The 27-year-old, though, has confirmed that he is not seeking a move away from the French club and is extremely looking forward to being a success at the French club. Selling the 27-year-old Ivory Coast international striker will represent a sizeable profit for the French club, who managed to get him on a free transfer this summer. Selling him will also help the club manage their finances in a much better way. It was only a few months ago that the French club sold the star asset Eden Hazard to Chelsea.
“We are calm. Salomon knows he has to work hard to reach his true level and show what he is capable of doing when he is in the best shape mentally,” said his agent and brother in a recent interview. Meanwhile, the coach of the Lille team confirmed that the club are not looking to sell the player because he still believes that Kalou can realise his potential. Rudi Garcia has said that Kalou is someone who will be able to deliver once he settles.
