Former Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou has hinted that may be open to offers from England saying that it is still the best league in the world.
The Ivory Coast international was released by Chelsea after his contract came to an end at the end of the 2012 season. In his final season at the club, the striker managed to lift the Champions League title. He transferred to the French league as a free agent with Lille, but his first season in France has not gone according to plan. He has struggled for form during his 12 months at the club.
Despite this, he has been a first-team regular at the French club, which was something he struggled during his time at Chelsea. Kalou has been linked with a return to the Premier league with newly promoted Cardiff city. He has failed to deny the rumours by saying that the Premier league still remains as one of the best leagues in the world, and he would be open to the possibility of playing in it once again. The 27-year-old Kalou is not expected to cost in excess of £ 10 million, which would make him an ideal signing for Cardiff manager Mackay.
Cardiff will be looking to strengthen their attack and Kalou, who scored 60 goals for Chelsea during his six years at the club, is an excellent option.
“Playing in the Premier League was amazing and I want to have that feeling again. It is still the best league in the world. The supporters there are so passionate and know everything about the game. You see fans making fun of their opponents and singing songs and in other places you don’t have that. It gives England an extra edge,” said the striker. Mackay also said that things are progressing well in the transfer department.
