Every team who has gained a position in the Champions League has been helped by star players. For Hertha Berlin it has been Salomon Kalou who has helped the team to gain a place in the Champions League.
Hertha Berlin might not be in this season, but they have definitely secured a position for themselves in the next season. The home game that was played between them and Ingolstadt led to a winning score of 2-1 for them.
Salomon Kalou and Genki Haraguchi scored the winning goals. As a result, they have been able to move the team to a position ahead of Schalke who is placed fourth. On an Ingolstadt’s side Lukas Hinterseer placed the consolation goal. Not everything was great for the home team, especially when Vedad Ibisevic delivered a header, but it was ruled out as an offside.
Kalou took chances for the team. He went close to the goal post as the first half came to an end. He delivered a header which hit the crossbar on the way over. Hertha’s team, however, took the lead in the second half when Haraguchi came close and volleyed over Marvin Plattenhardt. Kalou meanwhile, made the score 2-0 at the midway of the game.
