KALOU INSISTS CHELSEA MUST TURN THEIR FORTUNES AROUND

As long as you’re a football fan and you follow the English Premier League a lot, you won’t need to be told that Chelsea are going through a patchy phase and are currently not in the firm they were this time last season. The Blues are currently out of form and it has had a huge toll on their season so far. For a side that were crowned the UEFA Champions League title and named the best team in Europe at the end of last season, they had only one job under Thomas Tuchel this season and that was to continue their blistering form to see if they can win the English Premier League title this season.

It was looking quite like the Blues would be strong challengers for the League title after the first few games of this season. They were battling toe-to-toe against Liverpool and Manchester City and were giving the Reds and the Cityzens a run for their money. But after a couple more games into the season, things began to go downhill for Tuchel and his men. Although they have suffered only a few number of defeats this season, they have drawn a lot of games and it has affected their position in the league table.

From a team that were seen as major candidates for the league title to a team that is now seen as one battling for a top-four finish, Chelsea have disappointed a lot of people, including their fans, despite them having the same squad that won the Champions League last season – except for the addition of Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku was signed from Inter Milan last summer and looked like the last piece of the jigsaw in their quest for League title glory but that has not been the story. Former Chelsea player Salomon Kalou has now insisted that the Blues must improve quickly in time to challenge for the league title next season.
